Hauled concrete to dump.
Picked up free mulch. (The county makes it out of the trees they shred.)
Laid mulch.
Adjusted spacing of pavers in new patio.
String trimmed as my wife mowed.
Sat on patio enjoying the spectacular day.

Instagram’s app is full of ads. Every 3 pictures I get an ad.
When I open it in a browser, no ads.
Today I deleted the app and opened it in a browser tab.

Love the 3am Smoke Alarm Polka.
I can reach my own ceilings. I would hate to have to drag a something between rooms at this time to reach and replace batteries on the alarms.
My Xbox One started making a whining sound like the hard drive was dying so I took it apart.

There’s not much inside the Big Black Box. I didn’t have a proper sized drive to replace the current one so I left it alone.
I put it back together and it was silent for an hour. So I don’t know if it was the drive or something with the fan. I blew out the insides with canned air just in case.
It may be time for a new Xbox soon. But I just ordered a new Google Pixel 3a XL to replace my aging Original Pixel XL with a failing battery. So I’m hoping the Xbox holds on longer.
I wrote about Chronolog on my other blog.
Found Zettlr today and I think I’ve found a home for my personal knowledge base.
Markdown-based. Plain text. Intuitive.
I lost 2 hours after work tonight in it and look forward to losing many more.

My wife is going to get to see him.
I’m jealous.
Last night I went to bed about 7:30pm. Tonight I was asleep by 8:30pm.
Watching a 6 year old experience forgetting to save the game and replaying Cerulean City’s gym in Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee.
Isn’t this a rite of passage for gamers?
My Dell T20 tower server has arrived from eBay today. Now I just need time to set it up, move drives from my NAS into it, setup some VMs as a home learning lab and explain to my wife why there is another computer in my office.
Whether I stop the puck or it goes in, I do the same thing afterward. I squirt the water bottle and I follow one drop all the way down to the ice. It’s just a little ritual to keep me focused. We’re just here, trying to stop the next puck, you know.https://www.theplayerstribune.com/en-us/articles/braden-holtby-and-then-we-got-mario-kart-tattoos
Fun story about teamwork, friendship, focus and Mario Kart.
During dinner, I looked up and see this on the wall.

I may have had dinner in The Good Place.
Couldn’t figure out what this was for. I do feel ISB needs our support but I don’t recall giving them money.
(It’s for the US Botanical Gardens.)
My favorite hockey players were born in the 1990s!
I don't know how to feel about this.
My wife made Spaghetti Squash Lasagna Boat from Pinch of Yum tonight and they were incredible.
The ricotta gave the squash a gooey cheesy core and the ground turkey was seasoned to perfection. I wanted to sail away with her in that boat and die happy.

Finished Russian Doll on Netflix and was delighted in how they took repeating everyday and gave it rules and made it interesting and fresh.
Excited for another season.
This is how I will describe the Crackdown series to people unfamiliar with it.
I do the things that I’m designed to do: Punch dudes, shoot dudes, squash dudes, explode dudes, run dudes over in my car, throw dudes off high ledges. Each time an enemy dies, he renders up pretty, colorful bubbles that flutter pleasingly toward me. These are upgrade points that level up my various skills. So I become better at punching, shooting, and squashing at a rate that is comparable to the increasing menace of my opponents.Polygon Crackdown 3 review
Installed accordian lights above the bed tonight. There has never been enough light for reading well. No longer!
Bedroom smoke detector decided 3:40 am was a good time to alert me it needed a new battery.
Of course, I don’t have a spare so the next room over has no alarm for the night. Morning?
It’s 4am and I almost got 2 hours of sleep before this.
Happy Birthday to me!

Made this pork ramen tonight. Super easy and so flavorful. Highly recommend!
RIP MoviePass. We had a good run. I paid for you about a year ago through Costco for $99.
In that time I saw 60 movies. letterboxd.com/peroty/ta…
It was a good run.

Figuring out how to fix those blurry image quizzes quickly takes you into philosophical territory: what is the universal human quality that can be demonstrated to a machine, but that no machine can mimic? What is it to be human?
Fascinating area of research at how to beat machines at tasks machines will eventually exceed humans at completing successfully.
